Portland Uke Fest 2008 OverviewThe first day of Uke Fest is set aside for orientation, meeting other students, and finding out about the classes being offered. Students may check-in any time after 1 p.m. on Wednesday. An orientation meeting will start at 4 p.m. followed by teacher's class presentations to help you decide which classes will be right for you. Wednesday evening there will be special entertainment, open mic, song circles and jam sessions. The next three days (Thusday, Friday, and Saturday) will have classes in the morning and early afternoon, workshops in the late afternoon, and special events in the evening. The last day of camp, Sunday, is for packing up and saying good byes. Check out from the dorm is by 11 a.m. In addition to the scheduled events, every day will have opportunities for jamming, enjoying the great outdoors, or just playing hooky and sleeping. On Friday and Saturday evenings there will be a concert (open to the public) featuring festival faculty. The daily schedule will look like this:
