New this year! The "Saturday MicroFest" is a one-day ticket for Saturday, June 20th from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This is the inaugural MicroFest, created to provide learning and playing opportunities for ukulele enthusiasts who may be unable to attend the week-long festival. Many Uke Fest teachers will offer an encapsulated version of one of their classes or offer something completely different on Saturday. Several additional Northwest teachers will join the staff on Saturday to increase the number and variety of offerings. There will be something for everybody - beginner to advanced. Keep an eye on the workshop page to learn about recent additions to the Saturday lineup. MicroFest check-in is 8:30-9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 20, in the Student Union at Reed College. There will be many activities throughout the day: one-hour workshops, open-mic, and jamming opportunities. The fee for MicroFest is $75 and includes a non-refundable $25 administration fee. Full payment is due with the registration form, and no refunds are available after Wednesday, June 17. Saturday night room & board options are available on the Reed Campus -- if you are interested in this, contact our student coordinator, Nancy Gillespie for details. (info@portlandukefest.org). Please note: tickets for the public concerts on Friday and Saturday evenings are a separate purchase. NOTE: The MicroFest will remain under construction through the Spring -- so keep checking this site for updates! I look forward to sharing the music with you on Saturday.
