Portland Uke Fest 2009 OverviewThe first day of Uke Fest is set aside for orientation, meeting other students, and finding out about the classes being offered. Students may check-in any time after 1 p.m. on Tuesday. An orientation meeting will start at 4 p.m. followed by teacher's class presentations to help you decide which classes will be right for you. Tuesday evening there will be special entertainment, open mic, song circles and jam sessions. The next three days (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) will have classes during the day and special events in the evening. Saturday is a special one-day program with different workshops, open mic, and performances. This is a new addition to the festival and open to one-day ticket holders. The last day of camp, Sunday, is for packing up and saying good byes. Check out from the dorm is by 11 a.m. In addition to the scheduled events, every day will have opportunities for jamming, enjoying the great outdoors, or just playing hooky and sleeping. On Friday and Saturday evenings there will be a concert (open to the public) featuring festival faculty. The daily schedule will look like this:
