Welcome! The Portland Uke Fest is an exceptional music-camp for ukulele players. Outstanding teachers from across North America offer classes in different genres of music and ukulele technique. Classes extend over several days to deepen your understanding or jump start your musical skills and repetoire at any level. To round out your musical experience you can join in other classes such as hula, acoustic bass, and percussion, singing and song writing. Repertoire classes include Hawaiian, ragtime, jazz standards, and folk. The evenings are filled with special events, entertainment and lots of jamming. These activities are located in the heart of beautiful, Reed College campus which surrounds the Johnson Creek watershed and is home to abundant wildlife–a perfect setting for learning and relaxation. New this year: PUF starts one day earlier than in the past and a one-day ticket has been added for Saturday, June 20th only. For those returning, this means one more day of joyful music making!
Concerts on Friday and Saturday evening, will showcase the talents of the teachers, and are open to the public. This will be an awesome convergence of great ukulele and musical talent on one stage, over two nights, and is not to be missed. Please read over the information on the web site carefully and write or call if you have any other questions. Email: PUF or phone: 503-679-0391. We hope you'll join us for this truly memorable "ukulele university" experience. Check back at this site for updates on workshops and teachers. (The uke fest class design and schedule is based on the Puget Sound Guitar Workshop (PSGW) -- a very cool guitar and music camp that has been running for more than 30 continuous years).
